A commander i’ve known for some time contacted me a few days ago and asked me if I was aware of the situation out in the Pleiades Sector. To be honest, I hadn’t been following the news recently, i’d been too wrapped up in prepping the Leonov for the long haul out into the Black.

The headquarters of Operation Ida at Malthus Terminal were being indicated as the next Thargoid attack target and any able-bodied commanders were being asked to help defend the station against an incursion.

Operation Ida is the organisation that have helped to repair so many of the stations damaged by Thargoid attack. It would be a supreme irony if their station was totalled by the alien menace, so it was time for me to step up and help.

With the Leonov undergoing final fitting-out for her next deep-space exploration junket, there’s little for me to do and my Chieftain was in storage here, so I took her out of storage and hurriedly outfitted her for anti-xeno ops.

And here I am, a few days later, doing my best to hold the line against the Thargoid scouts.

I’ve been away from combat for a long time, but i’m slowly getting back in the saddle and I can already claim several victories. I hope this is enough to stop an all-out attack on the station.
