We’re now passing through the Pink Flame Nebula, a supernova remnant which hides a neutron star in its heart.

The Pink Flame Nebula

From a distance the nebula appears in pinks and blues, but dropping into the core reveals a blue domain. I didn’t get far enough away from the star for the natural tones to shine through.

Inside the Pink Flame Nebula.

We’re making much better time now, Temeraire is still performing within nominal parameters though she’s starting to accumulate some damage to the Frameshift drive due to neutron boosting.
